Invisalign for Adults

Share

Orthodontic treatment isn’t just for teens! It’s never too late to achieve your best quality of life—and that begins with your smile.

Adults comprise a large portion of our patients, so it’s our goal to provide favorable options in adult treatment. Many adults who need orthodontic treatment prefer a clear, comfortable and convenient option. That’s why we offer Invisalign® for adults!

Why Invisalign®?

Invisalign is clear.

One of the most notable benefits of Invisalign—it’s practically invisible. Made of BPA-free, flexible, clear plastic, Invisalign aligners are custom-fit to your unique dental arch to blend with the natural appearance of your teeth.

Whether you have a meeting, a job interview, professional pictures or a public speech on your schedule, Invisalign technology will straighten your teeth while remaining undetectable.

Invisalign is removable.

Invisalign clear aligners are not fixed or bonded in place. You’ll remove your aligners to eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth. That means no dietary restrictions! To prevent bacteria build-up or damage to your aligners, you’ll take them out and place them in your Invisalign carrying case before eating.

Once you’re done eating, you’ll rinse them with lukewarm water and place them back in your mouth. With no brackets or wires to get in the way of cleaning, Invisalign aligners are increasingly hygienic!

Invisalign is comfortable.

Invisalign clear aligners are made of flexible, yet sturdy plastic. Because these trays are custom-designed to fit each tooth, they apply comfortable pressure to the gums and teeth. Invisalign technology does not include any metal brackets, wires or sharp pieces, and the aligners don’t require any tightening or adjusting.

Conditions Treated with Invisalign for Adults

Invisalign technology is state-of-the-art and highly effective! Invisalign can treat a wide range of orthodontic conditions, including the following:

  • Overbite

  • Underbite

  • Crossbite

  • Gapped teeth

  • Open bite

  • Crowded teeth

  • Crooked teeth

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign works in a series of clear aligners that are custom-fit to the exact arch of your top and bottom teeth. Our orthodontists will use the iTero digital scanner to make precise impressions of your teeth in as little as two or three minutes to begin the Invisalign process. We use these impressions to custom-design your aligners for a perfect fit.

Invisalign aligners come in sets of two—one tray for the top teeth and one tray for the bottom teeth. Every 1 to 2 weeks, you’ll switch out your set of aligners to wear a new set, and every 10 to 12 weeks, you’ll visit our office to receive new sets of aligners. Each set of aligners is custom-made to shift your teeth closer to the ideal alignment.

Invisalign applies gradual, but persistent force on the teeth throughout the day and night. You’ll wear your aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours each day.

How long does Invisalign take?

There is no fixed treatment time with any orthodontic treatment. Our orthodontists create a personalized treatment plan for you, which means treatment time can vary based on a number of factors.

To create your customized treatment plan, we will consider your unique smile goals and the severity of your current condition. Treatment period with Invisalign will also depend on how diligent you are in wearing your aligners. If you choose not to wear them as instructed, you will endure a longer treatment period.

Average Invisalign treatment typically ranges anywhere from 12 to 18 months.

With us, Invisalign and braces are similarly priced! Most patients assume Invisalign is the more expensive treatment option, but we’re able to offer Invisalign and braces at low prices.
